Storm and Screen Windows
from:Windows are one of the most architecturally and pleasing aspects of a home’s interior and exterior. Bay windows, arched windows, French doors, side lights, and skylights are just a few of the different types of windows available. Windows allow sunlight to floor your home and they are visually appealing from the street, as well as from your seat inside.
One important aspect of windows that is often overlooked is the value of storm and screen windows. These additions to your windows can make them more functional and can allow you to enjoy more of the outdoors. Storm and screen windows are inexpensive and easy to install so that makes them even more attractive to homeowners.
Storm Windows
Storm windows are a great way to improve the energy efficiency of your home and save you money while increasing your level of comfort. They insulate the home from the harsh cold or heat from outdoors and serve as an additional layer of insulation for your home. At the same time, they allow the light to shine through.
There are many types of storm windows and they range from low, medium, and mid-priced options. Many of them come with coatings that over UV protection as well. They are made of glass, plastic, and some new environmentally engineered windows. Glass is the most popular since it doesn’t intrude on the space or block any light. Some people do opt for plastic since it doesn’t break as easily and it has a long life. It’s a matter of personal preference.
Interior storm windows are easy to operate and convenient to use. They are great insulators when they are closed, but they can also be opened to allow fresh air to enter the room. They can be removed easily for cleaning when needed, or they can be cleaned in place.
Screen Windows
