Window Replacement and Installation
from:Replacing and installing new windows can be daunting if you don’t know exactly what you need. That’s why it’s important to know where to buy windows from. Consumers have so many options available and it’s hard to know exactly who is telling you exactly what you need to know. That’s why we’re providing these tips on buying windows for window replacement and installation projects.
First of all, consumers should do their homework and evaluate several options before making a purchasing decision. Window manufacturers come in all sizes, shapes, and types. Some are reputable while others are just looking to make a dollar.
Your first criteria should be to talk to window manufacturers who sell energy efficient windows and solution. They should meet energy efficiency factors including things such as U-factor and other important considerations. Manufacturers who participate in the ENERGY STAR Windows program are usually high quality vendors that offer excellent window solutions.
Once you know the importance of energy efficiency, you can start looking at windows for your particular geographic region. Depending on whether it’s extremely hot, cold, or in-between, your windows will be important to the climate. Check out various distributors to find out the types of windows they promote and sell. Ask questions about energy efficiency. Check to see if they promote ENERGY STAR. Also, if they promote the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) certification on their website or place of business, that’s a good indication of their energy efficient windows.
And don’t forget to check about Tax Credits and energy efficiency rebates that may be available to you based on product choice.
