There are numerous variations for the fireplace to help with your decision at fireplace stores and on the internet as well as many books all providing the right fireplace for any room and budget. You may decide to have the fireplace have the stone to the ceiling and built-in bookshelves added to either sides. The additional room of the bookshelves is a great way to utilize the space and provides a classic look to the fireplace.
One thing to consider is how the fireplace will affect the home insurance policy. Some insurance companies will charge more for the premium due to the fireplace being added to the home. Yet there are other insurance companies the addition will not affect their premiums in the least. It all depends on your insurance company, yet it is wise to know before you add the fireplace how your insurance company will react to the addition.
Adding the fireplace to the home is a beautiful addition that will provide comfort on the cold winter nights, romance for the times you feel like dinner by the firelight, and wonderful memories for the holidays.
